Patrice Miller
In this blog post, I delve into the incredible journey of a being a photographer who has dedicated the last three decades to capturing the essence of life through her lens. Join us as we explore my experiences, the evolution of her craft, and how she continues to see the world with fresh eyes.
Early Beginnings
My photography story begins in the analog era, with film cameras and darkrooms. She shares her initial inspirations, the challenges she faced as a woman in a predominantly male industry, and the milestones that marked her early career. Like photography my photography has gone through many changes as well.
Technological Evolution
Over 30 years, photography has undergone significant technological changes. I had to adapt, to the digital revolution, I had to embrace digital cameras and to master photo editing software. These new tools not only changed photography they changed me and my photography.
The World Today: A New Perspective
Now, 30 years into my career, I have had experiences that have changed how I see the world. I have decided to focus on photographing what I love. For years since the age of 10 when I learned my first bird call I have loved birds and nature and now I have the freedom to travel the world and photograph what I LOVE. After years of photographing images I thought the transition to nature photography would be easy, boy was I wrong. Nature photograohy requires a whole different set of skills.
It took a while and I am still learning but loving every step of the journey. Learning how to get your gear across the world and all in one piece. How to keep everything organized and safe. I have learned from seasoned wildlife photographers and appreciate all the knowledge they have freely shared over the years.
